Aldo Marin started DJ'ing at the tender age of ten, growing up in a family owned record store called The Music House on Dyckman Street in Washington Heights.At the age of eighteen he was asked to DJ on a mix show for WKTU in NYC. Within two years he went on to receive a GOLD Record for landing the number one spot in the Battle of the DJ's. In less than one year started Cutting Records right out of the record store, with their first release "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)" by Hashim, which is also known to many DJ's as "It's Time!!" .Co-founder of NYC independent record label Cutting Records (1983), served on the NARAS (Grammy) Latin Advisory Committee New York Chapter (1998-2000), NARAS Board of Governors New York Chapter (2002-2003). GRAMMY-nominated Latin artist groups: Fulanito (2000 & 2007) and Chico Malo (2001); record label hits: 2 In A Room “Wiggle It”, Corina “Temptation”, Sa-Fire “Don’t Break My Heart”, Hashim “Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)”, Masters At Work featuring India "I Can't Get No Sleep", Praxis featuring Kathy Brown "Turn Me Out", Nitro Deluxe "Let's Get Brutal" and many more.
